Lower abomonan pain. Could i be pregnant?

I know I'm kind of stupid for asking online but I started getting a bad pain on the lower left side of my abdomen. At one point, when I went to stand up I had to stop and immediately crouch down because the cramp was so bad. Today, the area felt a bit hard but right now its fine. I am expecting my period but these are cramps I've never experienced before so I'm a bit concerned. Anyone have advice before I go to the doctor? Thank you :)
